What To Wear On a Date In Spring!

Spring has sprung, and thank god it has, because we are more than ready to rotate our wardrobes from the posh and practical into the fun and the flirty.

Spring time is one of the best seasons for dating. Yes – there’s that reason *wink*, but better still, the mild weather  lets us flaunt our assets and outfits without being overcome by the humidity of high summer!

An in-between season, Spring lets us team that summer dress with a silk scarf, pair our shorts with a blazer, or throw an expensive-looking knit we bought in winter over our shoulders just in case the weather changes.

A snippet of things to come, Spring time is all about the first flashes of summer legs, the suggestion of a shoulder, and a glossed, glowing complexion.

If you’re lining up a slew of suitors this Spring, it’s time to equip yourself with a selection of outfits that make you feel fresh, confident, and classy.

From the boating date to the charity gala date, we’ve rounded up all the inspiration you need to decide what to wear on a date in Spring!

#1 – The Brunch Date

We’d struggle to come up with a more perfect Springtime outfit than this. Team a midi skirt with a silk camisole, basket bag and classic tan slides for the ultimate daytime outfit that’s comfortable and classy. Extra points for those on-trend white shades.

#2 – The Gallery-Hopping Date

Show that you know your Warhols from your Whiteley’s by opting for a minimalist long-line blazer with quirky accessories. Stylish flat shoes are essential for strolling the streets with your beau.

#3 – The Boating Date

Boating is one of the trickiest occasions to dress for, as there are simply too many variables; the type and size of the boat (so awkward to enquire), the weather, and whether you’re going to be expected to help on deck are all crucial elements. Spring can get nippy on the water, so save the skimpy outfits for summer.

For bigger boats, stylish flats (which you can easily take off), white jeans or shorts, and an easy jacket are winners. If you’re sailboat-bound, wear shorts or denim (nothing too fancy) as you’ll likely be asked to lend a hand along the way. Whatever you do, be sure to choose an outfit that won’t look unflattering with bare feet!

#4 – The Fancy Lunch Date

Ah, what could be better than bubbles by the waterside amidst the blissful season that is Spring! Classy blazers, fine knitwear, expensive-looking fabrics and elegant accessories are the perfect accompaniment to 5-star wining and dining.

#5 – The Cocktails Date

“Does she like me, does she not..”

Nothing keeps a man on his toes more than a top that says YES, paired with some pants that say MAYBE.

#6 – The Charity Gala Date

If lucky enough to have a swanky gala to attend on a date – why not go all out!? Soft, floaty fabrics are always great choices, but in Springtime, they’re required. Avoid heavy fabrics such as velvet, or sequinned gowns – instead, create all the attention you need via dresses which swirl as you move through the room.
