Recently, I was lucky enough to attend the third Annual Shine & Dine gala in support of Make-A-Wish Australia. Held at Doltone House in Sydney, the theme for the event was ‘A Sparkling Affair’. Guests such donned their shiniest gowns and smiles and were treated to a three-course meal and headline entertainment by pop star Dami Im. Former Miss World Australia Erin Holland opened the evening with a moving rendition of Beyonce’s ‘Halo’, while Make-A-Wish Australia National Patron Melissa Doyle MC’d the evening.
The event, attended by celebrities, VIPs and sports stars, were out in force to help the foundation raise over $50,000 for the Make A Wish foundation. The night included many magical moments, however the stand out was when every guest lit a sparkler, as the Make A Wish “wish child” found out his wish of meeting the St George Illawara Dragons was going to come true. Auction items and prizes up for the evening included an $8000 House of K’Dor Diamond Ring and a luxury stay at Karma Kandara Resort in Bali.
“Money raised through fundraising events like Shine & Dine help us grant even more wishes to seriously ill children, giving them hope for the future, strength to face the challenges of their illness, and joy from their incredible wish experience,” he said.
I wore a hot pink midi-length dress by Malaysian designer Khoon Hooi, jewellery by Glamadonna, a Chanel clutch, and my favourite strappy heels by Atmos & Here.
