The 87th Academy Awards brought all of our favourite stars to the red carpet to celebrate the achievements of some of the industries most talented actors and actresses. Designer gowns and stunning beauty looks were carefully put together for one of the award season’s most iconic events.

Twisted buns, natural looking make-up, deep red lips and the lob (long bob) were just a few of the key beauty looks on the red carpet, worn by stars including ‘It’ girls Dakota Johnson, Anna Kendrick and Margot Robbie.

As usual the updo was a key beauty look, seen in both tight and loose styles with either slicked back fronts or exposed fringes worn by Sienna Miller, Rosamund Pike and Julianne Moore. Rosamund Pike opted for a very classic updo, while Julianne Moore showed off a sleeked slide part style.
French beauty Marion Cotillard, also embraced the side part updo, pinning her side fringe to create subtle volume.

Proving to be one of this season’s most sought after beauty trends, the straight cut lob was one of the most lust-worthy looks on the red carpet shown by Margot Robbie’s stunning razor cut blonde hair teamed with a striking red lip. Naomi Watts, Nicole Kidman and Carmen Ejogo wore loose soft waves and curls to the mid-to-shoulder neckline, adding a 1920’s feel to the modern style.

For beauty, natural looking make-up was key, contrasted with a statement lip in red or deep plum. Naomi Watts and Chrissy Teigen opted for darker shades of lipstick with Dakota Johnson choosing a lighter and much more feminine pink tone.

In contrast with dark coloured lips, nude lips were seen once again on the red carpet from Cate Blanchett, Rita Ora and the stunning Nicole Kidman, perfectly complimenting a statement smokey eye or all-natural looking make-up.
