BWA Attends: The Opening Of The Largest Mövenpick Boutique In Australasia!

BY: VANESSA ROBERTS

Dessert and ice cream fanatics, brace yourself! There’s a new place to get your sweet-tooth satisfied, and it’s name is the Mövenpick Boutique.

No ordinary ice-cream shop, the new Mövenpick boutique at 580 George St Sydney is a dessert and ice-cream lovers dream come true. The large, 175 square meter space is an ode to ice-cream enjoyment with much more than regular cones and cups on offer. Whilst you’ll find a very impressive line-up of premium ice creams available, the Mövenpick boutique also happens to boast a full menu of ice cream-based desserts as well (not available at regular Mövenpick outlets.)

Such treats include: premium waffles and pancakes, swiss rolls, tasting baskets, fondue, ice cream tasting plates, ice cream drinks, chocolate fondant, plus a sumptuous ice cream fruit offering named “endless dream.” It’s definitely next level.

This dessert-lovers paradise is designed around “multiple dining experiences”, and it even has its own casual coffee lounge.

Last night marked the official opening of the brand’s largest boutique in Australasia, and I was lucky enough to score an invite.

Attended by everyone from sports identities to media and ice-cream fanatics, the night involved an inaugural ribbon-cutting ceremony and of course – lots and lots of ice cream.

Excitingly, Australian dessert whiz Katherine Sabbath was there – (if you’re not familiar with this sweet genius you can check her out on Instagram.) Katherine collaborated with the Swiss brand to create an exclusive bespoke dessert to mark the opening of the Sydney boutique. Her creation was a decadent rich chocolate shortbread tartlet laced in whipped cream, filled with a scoop of Mövenpick ice cream, adorned with a dark chocolate and raspberry chocolate shard, which was all drizzled in raspberry coulis.

Katherine mastered this dessert – it was sweet, rich and definitely premium. In addition to the inaugural opening, bloggers have been invited to attend a dessert-making class with Katherine herself at the Mövenpick boutique, so stay tuned for an update on that soon!

Diet starts Tuesday!

To visit the Mövenpick boutique head to 580 George Street, Sydney.
