One of the most celebrated designers in Australian fashion, Bondi-based designer Marnie Skillings has decided to end her incredible 12-year career. After having her first child, son Costa, last year, Marnie would like to focus on her life with him and husband Emil.
Marnie has shown collections at every Australian Fashion Week since debuting her eponymous label back in 2000, the only exception being her Spring/Summer 2012/2013 collection which she chose to host an intimate cocktail party preview for her closest family, friends and fans ahead of this year’s MBFWA.
We bid Marnie a fond farewell!

That’s a shame, so hard for quality labels to survive and be competitive in this economy and the Australian Fashion Industry. But a true creative always finds their way back to it even if on a lesser scale ….. I don’t think it will be the last we hear from her!
good luck and will be missed
good on hER!!

She’s been at it for a long time and now has different priorities, like ‘Whatthe’ said, she can always go back later.

Good for her putting her family first.
She can always fall back onto a few days a week later on in life. Some wise woman once said, “A woman can have it all – just not all at once!” Good on her!
