I have always loved the look of concrete in interior settings. I can even remember visiting the Sydney Opera House as a child and being impressed with the great raw slabs in the landmark’s interior way back then!
Whilst Jorn Utzon’s architectural masterpiece was slammed at the time for being “unfinished” and unbefitting of it’s use, a few decades on and this raw interior look has become a celebrated design movement in it’s own right.
Concrete’s raw and industrial finish makes it a favourite of design minimalists, but it’s perfect for those of us who love a little glamour, too. Concrete interiors make a brilliant canvas for adding your own touches of luxury and softness, which can be achieved via artwork, beautiful textures, lighting and colour.
Concrete provides a space with a modern edge and an understated warmth. It’s also eco-friendly, durable, versatile and energy-efficient. There’s definitely a lot to love about it!

it’s a great look, not sure about incorporating it into my home though!
I find concrete very harsh. None of these really speak to me.

I love concrete, there is something original about it. No two are ever the same.
