How To Host the Perfect Event Without a Meltdown

#5 – Plan for “the aftermath”…

Any tips on throwing a stress free party, must (unfortunately!) address the dreaded clean-up which follows.

Prior to the event, it may be prudent to place valuable furnishings, glassware and collectables in a locked room for the evening. If using the services of a caterer, a food service company or wait staff, ascertain whether they include post-event cleaning as part of their fee.

Failing that, discretely place bins within easy reach of guests, especially in the kitchen and food service areas. You may wish to consider paper plates and plastic glassware, if you really wish to avoid the after-party clean up blues. There are a number of companies now making designer tableware which is both beautiful and disposable.

The basic rule for throwing a successful party is to delegate, delegate, delegate! It is not your job to worry about the finer details but simply to relax and be the perfect host.

First and foremost, make your next party about YOU enjoying yourself and everything else will fall into place from there.
