Label Love: O2 Wear

I want to introduce you to O2wear, a beautiful Australian based label, created by founder Anna Malovka in 2011.

After spending several years working as an accountant in Adelaide, Anna decided to let her creative side rule and created O2wear during the two years she spent living and studying in Beijing and Shanghai.

Basically O2wear focuses on luxe, beautiful basics which every woman needs for the day to day. Couture and six inch stilettos are all well and good but there is something about that luxe basic that adds a little something special to your day.

The range is made entirely from amazingly soft bamboo viscose. Native to China, bamboo grows prolifically with very little need for irrigation or pesticides, unlike many other areas in the world making it a more sustainable option than many other fibres. A bit of spandex keeps it fitted and staying in shape.

Says Anna of the choice of materials, “I spent a considerable amount of time researching, contacting and visiting factories while I was living in China, looking for the right mix – a quality product made by a reputable company with a focus on sustainable materials.”

If you have ever shopped bamboo products before you will know how amazing they feel. But there are also a whole heap of amazing benefits to using bamboo products.

In particular they are Eco-Friendly (if sourced from the right producers). Bamboo is a very hardy crop and can be continually re harvested (just like that mystical Tim Tam packet). Crops of bamboo also product more raw fibre than other materials and don’t require pesticide usually.

The material is also SUPER soft, and for a tactile person like myself, this is paramount. I am totally anal about what touches my skin and anything polyester feels like a cheese grater against me! Its also perfect for sensitive skin.

Bamboo products are also antibacterial, have uv protecting qualities and are biodegradable. Have I sold you yet??

Want to snag an O2wear piece for yourselves?? You could win this gorgeous long sleeved shirt from O2wear in your preferred size, just comment below with your winter must haves to go in the draw to win!

Sounds absolutely beautiful. Assume this is closed now, but my must haves for winter include a lovely warm jacket that will go with most things, and a collection of scarves to change it about a bit.

I have some bamboo undies and tops, the softness and fit is amazing! I used to wear bulky hoodies in winter but they take too much electricity to dry in cold weather so now my essentials are lots of thin layers which trap body heat so I get warmth without the bulk so your long sleeved shirt would fit “seamlessly” into my wardrobe!
