Top 5 Concealers For Dark Eye Circles

Dark under eye circles is an age-old problem that most of us have to deal with, and believe me, I have tried my fair share of products to help combat it! Concealers have definitely become my best friend, but with so many products and brands out there, it is hard to separate the good from the not so good. So to help you out, here are some concealers that I have tested and given the Wendy tick of approval:

1. Napoleon Perdis Pro Palette Concealer (AU $55 from their website)

This concealer is truly heavy duty and does a perfect job making me look fresh and, dare I say, photo shoot ready. The fact that it is super long lasting is just the cherry on top of the cake. There are 3 shades for you to mix and blend the perfect shade for your skin.

2. L’Oreal True Match Touche Magique Concealer (AU $25.95 RRP, from Priceline)

This is a great alternative to the YSL Touche Eclat that doesn’t empty out your wallet as much! It’s great for covering up dark under eye circles, and can also be used as a highlighter on the cheekbones, forehead and the bridge of the nose.

3. Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer (AU $88.50 from StrawberryNET)

I was given this product as a sample to try and it was love at first application. It is a favourite among many top make-up artists around the world, and has won countless awards. It comes with a steep price tag, but it is a great concealer, and one little stick usually lasts around a year or more (even with daily use)!

4. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer (AU $24.95 RRP, from Priceline)

With its spongy applicator tip and concentrated formula, this concealer glides on nicely for me and blends really well. You do have to be careful when twisting the applicator though, to avoid having too much concealer squirt out! I also recommend wiping the sponge off with a tissue after each use, for purely hygienic reasons.

5. Garnier Youthful Radiance Anti-Dark Circles Roll-On Light (AU $18.95 RRP, from Priceline)

This is a great product that lifts and energises the eye area. I love the cool roller-ball applicator – it massages, refreshes and conceals at the same time! It is not the longest lasting concealer I have ever tried, but the caffeine and lemon infused formula does give my eyes a really good boost whenever they feel extra fatigued.

Have you tried any of these concealers? What are some of your tried and proven products?

Will definately try a few of them, have had dark circles under my eyes since I was a kid, no amount of detoxing/eating healthy got rid of them. Sick of looking like the morning after the night before even when it isn’t the case so hope to find a miracle here!

I use the napoleon palette and it works great! Hate how i only use one, sometimes two colours though and leave the rest to waste. Id be much happier to buy a whole tub in the one colour.

How well do concealers work with wrinkly eye areas?

    • wendyandco
Reply wendyandco Saturday 28th April, 2012 at 8:25 pm

I think it depends on each product, but generally concealers that are on the more liquid side work better than stick/solid concealers!
