Camilla & Marc kicked MBFWA 2013 officially off with a celebrations of their ten years in the business.
The Spring Summer 2013 collection Concentric draws its inspiration from the Matryoshka doll, drawing similarities from the dolls and their layered nature and the history of the label itself. The collection paid homage to their original aesthetic but played with modern prints, cuts and silhouettes.
The mood was set in the new space at Carriageworks, a beautiful timber catwalk added a classical element to the collection.
As always, prints played a strong role in the collection-in muted tones and luxe silk woven twill and silk satin. The main colour palette was pale blues, aqua and acid blues, matched against red and orange bases. A longer length of dress added sophistication and a corseted story added a touch of romance.
The hero here was really the use of fabrics. They made a beautiful collection standout and worthy of its marker point as the tenth year of success in an notoriously tough climate.
