How To Make Your Foundation Last Through The Day

Part 2 – Choosing the right makeup

For the best coverage, it’s essential that your foundation suits your skin type and it’s designed for all day wear.

1. Get the right foundation

Choose an all-day foundation in either dewy or matte. When applying, buff your chosen foundation into your skin with a brush or beauty blender, adding little by little in a downward motion to achieve the amount of coverage you want.

For a dewy finish we recommend: MAC Studio Sculpt, Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, Too Faced Born This Way.

For a matte finish we recommend: MAC Studio Fix, Marc Jacobs Remarcable, Estée Lauder Double Wear.

2. Use a translucent setting powder.

Whilst an optional step, using setting powder (any drugstore brand will work) will pay dividends. Look for a very lightly tinted face powder and simply swipe it over your face (make sure you’re not pressing too hard and removing your foundation!) Simply let it set, and you’ll get get a slightly matte appearance without the added coverage, AND your foundation will stay in place for longer.
