Always more eclectic than the other fashion capitals, the London shows were bright, daring and just a little bit interesting! Let’s take a look at the unique trends that London offered up at the Fall 2015 collections…
1. Embellishment
Frippery wasn’t a big deal at the AW15 shows in New York where the practicality of clothing built for warmth and comfort was the order of the day. London’s designers, perhaps thanks to the milder climate, threw caution to the wind – moving embellishment higher on their list of priorities.
From the glittery zodiac-inspired dresses at Matthew Williamson, to the ornate raincoats at Mary Katrantzou, surface ornamentation is a big trend from London. Topshop Unique adorned velvet mini skirts and blazers with jewelled dandelion motifs, texture and form was a huge part of Peter Pilotto’s stunning collection, and Burberry Prorsum featured mirrored discs and Moroccan-themed embroideries.

Not a fan of any of these.
Loving all of the embellishing!
Love that aqua – blue sort of color.
I’m glad textures have come back in.
I’m ready for some more exciting looks in fashion so I am happy about colour and texture also.
A couple of things that have had texture have been in my wardrobe for decades and I still love them.
Fringing in clothes is cool.
