BWA Chats To: Jennifer Hawkins

We had a chat to the inimitable Jennifer Hawkins about style, life, her career and her latest collaboration with Mount Franklin Lightly Sparkling. You can sip on the range this summer with the 450ml bottles available in 9 fun prints from Jen’s Cozi swimwear collection. 

Tell us a bit about this latest fab collaboration?
I was pretty taken aback with the response to the first Cozi collaboration with ‘Mount Franklin’ Lightly Sparkling last summer, people were collecting the full range and matching outfits with the bottles – it was crazy!

‘Mount Franklin’ Lightly Sparkling didn’t have to ask twice to do a second collection! We’ve released a total 9 patterns this summer, including two limited edition black and white bottles.

How did you pick which Cozi designs were featured in the ‘Mount Franklin’ Lightly Sparkling
collection?

I collaborated closely with ‘Mount Franklin’ Lightly Sparkling to ensure we were picking the prints that would translate strongly onto a bottle and stand out in stores.

We’ve made sure we had something for everyone in the collection from colourful and bold prints to simple monochrome stripes.

Who or what inspires you creatively?

I get alot of my creative inspiration from travelling – you really take in your surroundings when you are on the road or in a foreign city. I can also get inspiration from a catch up with my girlfriends as we talk a lot about fashion, what they like about a design, what they would change etc.

You’re obviously an inspiration to many of our readers, what is your one piece of advice you’d like to impart on them?

Be true to yourself and make sure you surround yourself with people that love you for your heart and soul, not your exterior appearance, or achievements.

What are your three must have items for summer?

A one-piece, my favourite this season is the…Cozi balconette bra full piece. It’s comes in many prints – all available at Myer.com.au.

A wide brim hat – I am loving Lack of Colours hats, they are trans-seasonal as well so a good
investment.

What are your three tips for looking and feeling good in summer?

Keeping hydrated is the most important tip to feeling and looking good in summer, so drinking lots of water and applying moisturiser at least once a day.

Make the most of beautiful weather and get active outdoors – I love a long walk on a Sunday with Jake or the family or taking Milly down to the beach.

Don’t be afraid to fake it – self-tanning is much healthier for you.

What is your all time fave beauty product?

Benefit ‘Bella Bamba’ blush – I only have a little bit left and sadly it has gone out of production!

Who is your fave Aussie designer?

It is very hard to only name a few but Toni Maticevski, Yeojin Bae, Manning Cartell, Morrison are so so talented and true artists when it comes to fashion, I also love Bul for more casual pieces.

Finally, if you could have breakfast with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

If I could have breakie with my family every day that would make me very happy !!!!
