Get The Look: Wella For DKNY At NYFW Spring 2013

The S/S’14 DKNY show, was the quarter century celebration of the iconic fashion label which was a fitting first show of the international fashion week season for Wella Professionals Global Director Eugene Souleiman.

Says Eugene of the look for the show, “To celebrate the anniversary, Donna created a varied collection with many different segments, so I wanted to create a look of uniformity that helped to tie the many segments of the collection together. To me, DKNY is all about youthful and natural sophistication, and the hair look needed to embody this”.

How to get the look from the show:

Step 1. Start with freshly washed and conditioned hair.

Step 2. Spray a heat reactive spray like the Wella Professionals Perfect Setting Blow Dry Lotion through the hair and blow dry flat using a soft bristle brush.

Step 3. Next, use straightening irons through the hair to create a smooth polished look.

Step 4.Create a low side parting and gently brush the hair flat to the head, spraying the hair with Wella Professionals Glamour Recharge Color Enhancing Spray, which acts as a finishing spray yet has the added benefit of creating beautiful shine on coloured hair.

Step 5. Gently, using a soft bristle brush, sprayed with a hairspray or finishing spray, pull the hair over to a low ponytail on the opposite side of the head to the parting, making sure that all flyaways and frizz is tamed.

Step 6. Continue by securing the hair in to the low ponytail with elastic, letting the ponytail come forward over the shoulder.

Step 7. Finally, take a small pump of Wella Professionals Mirror Polish and smooth on to the palms of your hands, then take a soft brush and gently rub this across the palms to pick up the smallest amount of product, and then brush the pony tail section. The Reflections Oil creates a smooth, healthy looking finish to the hair.

Step 8. Et voila!
