With Camilla’s Gypsy collection inspired by the designer’s love of travelling, the intricate hair styles at the show also took us on a delectable journey around the globe with each model’s mane representing such exotic places like Japan, Chile, Brazil and India.
Hair Director for Camilla, Sharon from Goldwell talked me through the process backstage before the show explaining that – depending on the region the model’s each represented – a different hair piece was used throughout with only the top knot on each of the girl’s heads unifying the entire look.
To effectively portray Camilla’s vision, Sharon and her large team of creative stylists used Goldwell StyleSign Products, first prepping and blow drying the hair with Goldwell’s Hot Form, then working the Magic Finish finishing spray throughout. After securing each top knot as well as the individual hair pieces, the use of Goldwell’s Big Finish hairspray was liberally used for “extra guts” and staying power. They also – sparingly – used the shine product, Spun Shine to give it some extra sheen despite instructions to leave hair with a slightly “duller look”.
The imaginative hair complimented the collection cohesively, successfully taking us between continents around the world just as Camilla herself desired us to.
