6 Tips For Embracing Minimalism At Home

2. Use Colour Carefully

Minimalism does not mean settling for all-white rooms. However, it is important to use colour carefully, because too many bright shades are a strain on the eyes and mind. They make a space look and feel overwhelming, which is what you are trying to avoid. The best way to decorate is to use a neutral foundation (whites, creams, stones, and greys), but add splashes and pops of vibrant colour.

Great tips! When I moved to my own house, that’s when I realised the importance of minimalism if you want to have a clutter-free home. I quite agree on #4. We usually tend to buy things without thinking thoroughly if we really need them at home or if they would just add to the clutter. We sometimes buy stuff just because we like them. To practice minimalism, what I usually put in mind is that “I have no space for that thing in my house”.
