Every couture season that comes around I always stop and have a moment with Givenchy. If you are familiar with what Riccardo Tisci has done for the label, you will notice an an ongoing trend with how he creates and displays every collection. A ongoing trend that definitely sets him apart from all other couture shows and gives him that true identity that he describes makes a successful designer.
Set in what could be your local high school gym, the gowns were far from those you would see on a basketball court. Embellished to perfection (as always) each floor sweeping piece flaunting true art deco glamour with a slight tough edginess. A stand out piece being a crocodile skin covered gown that apparently took 350 hours to make, each piece on the hide was individually cut and numbered, then bleached, dyed, and resewn one by one in order onto a tulle body stocking (style.com), impressive to say the least!
