Last night the girls and I at BWA HQ indulged in a few after work cocktails, all in the name of research of course! I’m sure there were a few heavy heads this morning but the Gin and Rose cocktail that was on the menu looked too delish to resist.
We thought it to be the perfect drink if you are holding girlie pre-drinks, hens parties or just having a few of the bestie’s over for a de-breif, giggle and daggy dance in the lounge room to S Club 7.
All you need:
- Petals of 3 unsprayed roses, plus 6 small unsprayed roses to garnish
- 3 shots gin
- Mint leaves
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- Ice
- Sparkling wine OR champagne OR lemonade
- 150g caster sugar
- 1 tablespoon of rosewater
Add 100ml tap water and caster sugar into a pan over medium heat. Bring to the boil, stirring to dissolve sugar, then remove from heat. Stir in rosewater, then chill until completely cold.
Place mint leaves and rose petals in glass and crush together slightly with a spoon.
Add gin, lemon juice, rose syrup and lots of ice into your cocktail shaker, shake until your arms hurt.
Pour into chilled glasses and top up with sparkling wine or champagne or lemonade.
Add a gorgeous trimmed rose to garnish.
Serve with short straw to guests *please note: I discovered sipping without a straw can lead to petals being stuffed up your nose. Not very lady like.
Enjoy.
