Candles are my all time favourite thing to buy for the house…they are super affordable, make the house smell beautiful and these days you can get a whole array of candles that are more like wax art (my favourites are THESE Pitch & Ash ones).
If, like me, you love candles and always wondered if you could make them yourself…the word on the street is that it is totally easy!
There are heaps of online videos and tutorials or you can even buy a candle makers beginners kit
My favourite are those teacup candles, which would make a great birthday present or decor at a wedding. There is a super easy tutorial for them here. There are other great how tos for making candles at Show and Tell, or for floating candles over at Martha Stewart.
If you want something a little bit different, there is a very cool DIY for Glowstick Mason Jars here that looks absolutely incredible.

Lovely ideas for candles!
I would love to try and make my own candles. They can change the mood of a room instantly.
An inspiring way to create a delightful outdoor kitchen mood with candles in soup ladels
I’m kinda off candles until the kids are older.
The candles are just awesome. I just love them all, in fact would try some of them for my son’s birthday party next month, it could be very wonderful decor pieces.
I love making my own candles but beware some fragrances and waxes do stink out your houses not in a good way either.
Just be sure your kitchen fan is on and/or windows are open.
Also know that your first batch may not be as perfect the pictures, it takes practise to get them right.
Love the teacup candles!
Oh beautiful candles everywhere.
What a great weekend project!
