Trend Spotting: That 70’s Show

There’s always a revival of some sort happening in fashion. A revival of floral prints, of leopard, of the 90’s. The latest revival that’s set to hit the fashion world is the swinging 70’s, and we couldn’t be more excited.

An era known for lush and luxe eccentricities, glamorous women a la Jane Birkin, Farrah Fawcett and Raquel Welch, the 70’s is all about celebrating femininity and style with class.

Celebrities like Rachel Zoe and Kate Moss have been long time 70’s revivalists and it seems the rest of hollywood is catching on, from Eva Mendes to Dakota Fanning.

So how to take this retro era and make it modern and wearable? Our top tips are:

– Fedoras and panama hats. Lack of Colour Australia has some super cute ones in great summer colours.

– Shop knee high boots with a twist. Katie Holmes wore the perfect 70’s outfit by teaming it with those burgundy leather boots. Our faves are from Tony Bianco HERE for a slightly more modern edge.

– Think bellbottom comebacks. But not those crazy flares we all wore in year 6. A gradual, flattering flare can actually make your legs look skinnier! Team it with oversized sunnies for a true 70’s look.
