Long stretches of private beaches, exclusive nightclubs, glistening Mediterranean marinas and more celebrity sightings than fashion week; St. Tropez has long been the home away from home for the world’s rich, famous and infamous. In a place where you’re just as likely to spot Beyonce and Jay-Z riding jet-skis through the yacht-lined harbour as you are at a Brooklyn Nets game, it’s hard to believe that this corner of the French Rivera is soaked in so much culture and history.
It wasn’t until Brigitte Bardot’s 1956 “And God Created Woman” film (that was shot on location in St Tropez) for the world collectively fell in love with this picturesque pocket of the world. Since then, St Tropez has transformed from a humble harbour town into the playground for the very beautiful and the extremely wealthy.
