New Years is almost here and what better way to celebrate with a couple of delicious cocktails!
Every year I deliberate as to what cocktails to choose- and one of the bonuses of our hot, hot holiday period is that tropical, summer cocktails are just what the doctor ordered.
I have put together my list of my top five must try cocktails for this year, and let us know what your favourites are in the comments below!
1. Cin Cin
60mL Cinzano Biano
120mL dry ginger ale
lemon wedges
cucumber slice
Build in a tall glass filled with ice. Stir through and garnish with a cucumber slice and two lemon wedges squeezed in. Almost like a alcoholic iced tea, this dry drink is a perfect starter on a hot summers night.
2. Bellini
1/2 ounce peach liqueur
1 ounce peach juice or nectar
Chilled champagne or sparkling wine
Pour liqueur and juice into a chilled champagne flute. Slowly top up with champagne or sparkling wine. A fruity cocktail is always a winner!
3. French Martini
1/4 oz Chambord® raspberry liqueur
1/4 Pineapple juice
1 twist lemon peel
4. Mojito
2 ounces white rum
8 mint leaves
Half a lime, chopped
1/2 ounce sugar syrup; club soda
Ice cubes
Mash up mint, lime, and sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add a scoop of ice, then the rum. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled tumbler 1 inch from the rim; top up with club soda.
5. Pina Colada
1 1/2 ounces white rum
1/2 ounce coconut cream
1/2 ounce Malibu
3 1/2 ounces pineapple juice
1/2 ounce sugar syrup
1 cup crushed ice
Pineapple leaves
Place all ingredients but the pineapple leaves in a blender and blend until the consistency of shaved ice. Pour into a large, chilled cocktail glass; garnish with leaves. If you like Pina Coladas…you know the rest!

Mmmm. Pina Colada….nothing better on a hot summer day!
I’m totally allergic to alcohol, in any form. Really!!!
The Bellini sounds delicious!
Thanks for the cocktails-Pina Colada for me
Pina Colada’s are one of my favourite drinks but the Bellini sounds tasty also. Probably will have both this New Years. Best wishes to all
Feel like having each one of them!
French Martini sounds good!
My fave at the moment is the Gold Digger: 1 part lemon juice, 2 parts cloudy apple juice, and 3 parts Vanilla Galliano. It’s both sweet and sour…yummy!
Breast feeding, so no alcohol for me this New Year…
