Trend How-To: The Tracksuit Pant

No longer for just gym junkies and Sunday mornings, track pants are turning heads for all the right reasons this season.

Not to be confused with the brightly coloured velour look made famous by Juicy Couture and the Hilton sisters, the new style is sleek yet slouchy with understated, muted colours that creates a contemporary, relaxed silhouette.

This alternative to jeans, legging or harem pants was seen all over the Spring/Summer 10 catwalks from Prozena, Rag and Bone and Alexander Wang. The style combines the sophistication of a trouser with the comfort of a traditional tracksuit pant, for a glamorous casual look that will keep you comfy in various cotton and jersey materials.

Australia’s own Bonds has their own take on the faithful tracky dak in their new winter campaign, turning the cold month wardrobe staple into a fashionistas dream by adding the right leather jacket and accessories.

To avoid looking like a gym reject this trend requires meticulous styling  in all other aspects of the outfit. A structured blazer and shirt combined with sky high heels or ankle boots turns potentially sloppy to sleek.

Whilst it may be a little tricky for everyone to pull off the new tracksuit pant is the perfect way to combine comfort with fashion forward style for that sexy uncalculated vibe.
