Rebecca Morrice Williams’ Winter Complexion Tips

Winter is here and with it comes along cold, dry winter air, indoor heating and long, hot showers that can dry out your skin, affecting your complexion. BECCA’s Founder & Creative Director, Rebecca Morrice Williams gives us some of her top tips to maintaining your skin during the chilly months and creating a perfect complexion.

PRIME

After applying your moisturiser, always use a primer to ensure your foundation lasts all day. A great primer can provide extra nourishment for the skin to fight against a dull, lifeless complexion. Consider a primer such as BECCA’s Radiance Primer that energizes the complexion with a luminous dewy finish or the Rejuvenating Primer that hydrates and softens tired skin.

APPLY FOUNDATION

Foundation is essential for creating a flawless, even-toned complexion. Sheer foundations such as Luminous Skin Colour visibly improve the complexion, yet look incredibly natural on the skin whilst providing an SPF of 25+. For effortless-looking skin enhanced by subtle radiance, try something with medium, buildable coverage.

CONCEAL & SET

After foundation, apply concealer by blending with a patting motion, gradually building up coverage as required for a flawless finish. With a naturally radiant finish, Radiant Skin Creamy Concealer is a great choice for winter. Finally, set the face with a powder for a soft focus look to even out imperfection even further.

CONTOUR

Crème bronzer is a must-have for the season for a natural sun-kissed glow. BECCA’s Bronzing Skin Perfector can be worn under make up as a base, mixed in with foundation or moisturiser for a custom tint or applied over foundation. To bronze or contour specific areas of the face, squeeze a pea-sized amount onto your hand and blend onto the forehead and under the cheekbones into the hollows of the cheeks using a polishing brush.

HIGHLIGHT

Luminisers enhance the complexion with light-diffusing particles that reduce imperfections. To apply over foundation, blend along the orbital bone and sweep past the high parts of the cheeks. Continue by highlighting the bridge of the nose, cupids bow of the lip and inner corners of the eyes using fingertips.

For that little extra bit of colour for the face, sweep a soft toned blush over the apples of the cheeks to finish, and with these simple steps for your makeup routine you can bid farewell to a dull, lifeless complexion over Winter.
