Recently, I got my hands on a couple of these Illamasqua blushes after my friend raved about them.
I’ll be honest, I was a little reluctant to try the blushes out, as I had tried a cream blush before and been underwhelmed. None-the-less I snatched up three powder blushes in addition to the one cream blush I purchased earlier, and what would you know? A possible new favourite blush brand!
I tried to pick out three colours from different colour families, a coral, a pink and a red-toned blush in Lover, Katie and Hussy respectively.
Firstly, the packaging- very sleek, lightweight plastic. Great for travelling however it feels a little weak sometimes because it is so light. The product itself is fairly hefty, packing in 4.5g- quite a bit.
The powder is very finely milled, probably the most finely milled powder I have tried thus far! This makes the colour pay-off quite decent, the pigmentation is great in these. Because of this, it can also be quite easy to overdo the blush so be careful on that front! However, application is a dream. It goes on super smooth with an ordinary blush brush or kabuki and stays on well throughout the day.
Katie: A cool, baby pink. Looks a tad chalky when first applied but warms up on the skin to be a true pale pink with no red tones. For those looking for a pink blush that maintains its candy-like quality and does not oxidise (and turn red on the skin) like most, this is perfect.
Lover: A matt peach. Medium pigmentation, very buildable. Great for those with warm undertones and any lovers of peach or coral.
Hussy: A bright, reddened watermelon pink. Very buildable, looks extremely natural when applied sheer and much more dramatic when layered. Perfect for everyday or a night out. This blush is the most versatile of the three.
All in all, these are a great buy and an amazing product. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is interested in investing in a high-quality blush.
xx Jen

I prefer powder blush whether pressed or loose – cream blush is like you said, underwhelming but hence good for subtle and radiant looks e.g. a Summer sun kissed of gloss look. Wow that first picture is something lol.
