Fashion says “me too”, style says “only me”.
If you haven’t discovered the blog Advanced Style yet, you are in for a delightful surprise. The blog is a beautiful exploration of self-expression and ageing in our society and really celebrates the charisma and personality of some truly kick-ass ladies. So imagine our happiness to discover that Advanced Style has teamed up with Coach for a lovely series which sees the young meet the old.
Susie Lau from Style Bubble tries on scarves with the divine 93-year-old fashionista Ilona Royce Smithkin, talking self-expression, fashion and art.
FrouFrou creator Nadia Sarwar sits down with beauty maven Linda Rodin, who obviously still knows how to rock some killer accessories.
Leandra Medine, better known as THE Man Repeller, meets Lynn Dell Cohen, who is world renowned as the owner of the Upper West Side boutique Off Broadway for the past forty years, and its almost as if you are looking at Leandra in 60 years.
The best thing about these series is a feeling of joy and hope. Often times we associate getting older with negativity, and there is a certain seriousness that comes over people at a certain age in life. These ladies live like its their last day and honestly, when you’re that age…you can do what you darn well please!
The clips were all shot in New York City (where else), where Coach began as a family business in 1941.
