Let us all enjoy a little Monday escapism courtesy of luxury label, MARCHESA’s Fall 2016/2017 show.
Drawing inspiration from Edwardian painter John Singer Sargent and the royal gardens at Gloucestershire in England, Marchesa’s presentation at NYFW brought drama and decadence to the runway.

Designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig are masters of the impossibly ornate, and this ready-to-wear show (ready to wear?! This certainly resembles couture to me!) was no exception.
One magical dress after another floated down the runway. Gowns came complete with tiaras, crowns, gilding, tulle, bejewelling and fringe. Intricate embroidery, silk flowers and marabou feathers added further opulence.
The Marchesa show helped conclude New York’s marathon fashion week, providing a welcome contrast to what has been termed a very commercial and strange week on the runways!
