Shopping Post: The Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’

Spotted everywhere, and on every fashionista, celebrity and blogger from Sydney to Dallas and everywhere in between there is no disputing that the ‘So Kate’ pump by Louboutin is having quite a moment…

And in my opinion, with good reason.

Ridiculously pointed, deliciously coloured, and strikingly sexy this is one heck of a shoe. Setting you back somewhere in the starting range of AUD $800 (and well into the $1000’s via some incarnations), this is what you would call an “investment shoe.” Thankfully, cheaper look-a-likes can be found (I’ve pre-selected some options you can shop at the bottom of the post.)

Released in 2013, and created to rival Christian Louboutin’s own world-famous “Pigalle” pump, this overtly sexy shoe catapulted into popularity immediately. Although, with a slimmer heel than the Pigalle, and a steeper pitch (ie the amount your foot is arched upwards)  many have found the So Kate oh-so-amazing to admire, but treacherous to walk in.

But for those that are game: wear your So Kate’s with anything from those red carpet outfits, to sharp suits, tight jeans, skirts or denim shorts (I’m looking at you Elle Ferguson!) This is a shoe that’ll take you onward and upward (A 12 cm stiletto has the tendency to do that!)

They look so high and so uncomfortable. But they are fabulous.

The style is great but for me personally I don’t think I could last a couple hours in those shoes!

Too high for me too and I don’t really know how to walk in those thinly pointed heels.
