Michael Lo Sordo has just launched his AW13 collection – and unlike the bright colour palettes we have seen in previous seasons, this one definitely taking a trip to the dark side. The celebrated Australian designer has stepped up his game once again, to produce a luxe and sophisticated offering for Autumn Winter, with a hint of attitude.
The collection favors high necks and classic splits, contrasted with edgy leather and dark fabrics. The highlight of the collection is Lo Sordo’s unique marble prints, which have been created by hand with a dye bath technique, making each piece a one-off. His collection is already proving to be popular, with pieces featuring in Marie Claire’s April ‘13 issue.
Lo Sordo has also been nominated for L’oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival’s 2013 National Designer Award along with From Britten, Kathryn Beker, Livia Arena and Lui Hon. The winner will receive a custom designed trophy by Tiffany & Co., a cash prize of $10,000, financial and investment advisory services, legal services and editorial support in Harpers BAZAAR. Lo Sordo is definitely worthy of taking home the title, with his popular collections over the years receiving a big tick of approval from major fashion houses, bloggers and editors alike.
