Label Love: Jamie Lee For Sportsgirl

I fell in love with Jamie Lee’s work over two years ago now, when I first espied her whimsical collection at a group show for Australian Fashion Week.

Since then Jamie Lee has grown from strength to strength- having evolved her skills as a visual artist, originally from Perth into a label that possesses something quite extraordinary.

Her Debut collection was described by NY Mag’s The Cut as “Lucha Libre fighters meet Power Rangers meet earlier 90s Barbie, with alien eyes and Madonna circa Blonde Ambition hair”

So imagine my delight when I heard that Miss Jamie Lee herself has teamed up with high street retailer Sportsgirl for an 8 piece capsule collection.

Jaime describes the collection as a “‘bright, fun collection that has an overall island theme with a hint of sparkle”.

Jaime drew inspiration from Honolulu, Waikiki and the landscape of Western Australia, which informed a beautiful spectrum of colour choices, prints and cuts.

The Blue Lagoon skirt is undoubtedly the hero piece which speaks volumes about the designers well known talent for hand embellishments, and her intelligence in translating couture for a wider audience.

This gorgeous collection will be available online at Sportsgirl.com.au and selected stores from December 2nd (so not long!) and will range from $80-$180.
