A couple of months ago Aussie fashion stalwart, Katies reached out to me to see if I would be interested in helping to form what is known as their ‘Katies Collective’…
As part of their over-arching “#Rediscover Katies” movement (it’s HUGE), the brand is undergoing a complete makeover which encompasses: their clothing – lots of modern designs at price-points that actually do remind you of the ’80’s (very affordable); their online shopping offering – a big and dynamic website that is constantly updated; their stores – 158 stores nation-wide will be re-vamped; and of course, the introduction of their Katies Blog (that’s where I come in.)
Now fully up and running, the Katies Collective is a group of blogging ladies from all walks of life who are helping to ‘digitise’ Katies and bring the once (dare I say, “mumsy”) label into the 21st Century. I have to admit I was a teensy bit sceptical at first (jersey mu-mu anyone?) but upon thorough inspection of their new-look ranges I have to say I was very impressed!
The Katies Summer collection includes all the staples you will need for summer, with great cuts and colours, as well as a very comprehensive sizing range (8-22 in some cases) and I was more than happy to get involved. In biggish news, next week I’ll be unveiling my inaugural outfit post for both Katies and BWA where I will show you how I wear some of my favourite Katies pieces – ie on myself. (…Yes, I left my comfort zone at the door for that one!)
Stay tuned!
P.s To coincide with everything, I have arranged a large give away with Katies for our lovely readers. There will be several hundred dollars of vouchers up for grabs (coming soon)

the basics look fabulous!
Katie’s used to be great for basics, then the quality crashed. If they improve that, I’ll go back.
Thank you so much everybody! I will post the outfit photos soon.
@whatthe – there are some true fitting 8’s, and some are a little larger. I have found overall, that the fit of everything has exceeded expectations. You may want to go in to a store and try some 8’s on just to see if their sizing has changed over the years before committing to buying online (although I am sure they have a pretty generous returns policy)
Yay. Real clothes.
Congratulations Vanessa! That’s great news. I’m a small size 8 (often a 6 in some brands) and I’ve often found Katies to create size 8’s that are on the larger side (more like a size 10 on me!). That was some time ago and I must admit I gave up on that brand as they were just too big for me. Hopefully they’re creating true-to-size 8’s now. : )
Well done great article
Can’t wait to see the outfit!
