I pretty much jumped for joy when I saw the Gucci RTW SS15 collection saunter down the runway in Milan recently. For a vintage Gucci enthusiast like me (er, it’s more like an unhealthy obsession) this collection couldn’t have been more perfect. Whilst I do love me a little monochrome and I’m all over the latest looks, there is something about luxe 70’s dressing that I cannot get enough of.

Rich suede in deep reds, burnt oranges and olive green. Inky blacks and navy. Top-to-toe leather and denim outfits, A-line skirts and luxurious detailing… couldn’t you just imagine swishing around Milano or London in the 70’s in these amazing garments!
Whilst this collection was heavy in 70’s styling, as always, Gucci made it new and they made it cool. More diva, less dork. What we saw was sophisticated 70’s glam, sexy cuts, rock and roll edge and couture-like luxury. Cropped pants and jeans made an (on-trend) appearance, and the collection reverted to many Gucci signatures of old: laced shirts, archival bags, iconic red and green stripe and plenty of beautiful Gucci silk by way of neckerchiefs and soft dresses.

Hmmm not sure if I’m too much for this season
Some are really pretty and wearable, some are not.
The outfit doesn’t really suit the ‘skinniness’ of the model (top photo). In an outfit like that I’d expect a body to be fit, a little muscly and strong-looking. The designers should have picked a more ‘appropriate’ model?
Interesting.
I love the colour tan for shoes etc.
stunning!
