Karen Walker Eyewear has released its second 2013 summer collection. As the second chapter of the collection, originally shot by Ari Seth Cohen- which featured a series of incredible images of Advanced Style ladies between the ages of 65 and 92 we breach the other end of life’s spectrum with a bunch of ultra adorable kids!
The four leading ladies, Claudia, Tyler, Elise and Alice-Rose are aged between three and five and have been shot by Derek Henderson. The stills really capture the personality and carefree-ness (I know its not a word, but its after midnight people!) and its refreshing to see the boundless, enegergetic youthfulness- completely devoid of motives, judgement or attitude that dominates most of today’s campaign imagery.
Says Karen of the concept, “The idea of shooting kids as a follow up to first summer’s concept seemed obvious to us for many reasons. Kids and mature women are worlds apart in age but this group share a thread of optimism and happiness that excites us.”
The collection itself is full of the Karen Walker aesthetic we have all come to know and love in eyewear. You can see the way that her shapes and vision emanates throughout the industry- in bold shapes and a futuristic vibe which offer up a wonderfully modern, yet sophisticated collection.
The collection is an 8-piece capsule, in graphic white and gold metal frames with on trend metallic blue reflective lenses as well as more classic black frames.
With a cult celebrity following that includes the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna, Anna Dello Russo, and Alexa Chung I’m pretty sure its time to snap your pair up…available in store from September 5th 2013.
