$8 Million Dollar Baby: Chiara Ferragni / The Blonde Salad

You’d be hard pressed to find anyone in the fashion world who doesn’t know of (and admire) Italian blogging powerhouse Chiara Ferragni. This gorgeous 27 year old with Bambi eyes and a Mensa brain is at the top of the game, and arguably the most influential fashion blogger – ever.

Having last week won the 2014 Bloglovin’ award for Best Personal Blog (adding to her previous wins for other categories) Chiara has come a looooong way since her blog ‘The Blonde Salad‘ kicked off in 2009.

Cleverly (and quickly) leveraging off her success as a street style maven, Chiara has morphed beyond the title of “typical fashion blogger”; instead she is a savvy businesswoman and key influencer to be reckoned with. As well as appearing on several catwalks and many MANY a red carpet, Chiara has appeared on Project Runway, has collaborated with Guess, Calvin Klein, Louis Vuitton (among others), has her own successful shoe collection, has written a book, and completed a law degree. According to Womens Wear Daily, Chiara is also far and away the world’s most well-paid “blogger” pulling in around USD $8 million per year. Gulp.

And as if her burgeoning career wasn’t self-evident enough, in April of 2014, Chiara was SIMPSONISED by Matt Groening himself!

Fittingly, since her public fashion journey began, Chiara’s style has also evolved. Where we saw her in a somewhat less-inventive “IT Girl” wardrobe in her early 20’s (think super-heavy makeup, mini skirts, fur, and glitz) today’s Chiara is represented through a much more eclectic and unique sense of style, which features vintage, the quirky, loads of denim, luxury labels and a rather heavy dose of Americana.

Chiara travels the world at a jaw-dropping pace, and is heavily connected to her 4 million fans and followers (2.8 million Instagram fans alone!) – posting as rapidly as the life happening around her (almost always with the tag #theblondesaladneverstops)
