Camilla & Marc Cruise 2013

Camilla and Marc are oft cited as the brand du jour of the typical Sydney girl and it is not hard to see why, especially when we laid peepers on the latest Cruise 2013 collection from the brother-sister duo.

The inspiration for the collection takes inspiration from the grandiose ineterious of Versailles, resulting in a cacophony of colour, texture and architecture. Luxurious fabric choices give the pieces depth and an opulent feel.

Camilla and Marc have also used unique fluro striped jaquards, which is on trend with our current obsession with Baroque, to bring us neatly tailored silhouettes.

The hero print of the collection consists of several elaborate jewel clusters on a creamy backing which are effortlessly scattered across beautiful dresses and trousers. These, according to the designer are intended to be work with additional real-life jewelled accessories, creating a sense of mystery and play.

While the collection is certainly fashion forward, it does not forget the female form for which fashion is intended to flatter. A focus on the waist, and the curvature of the female form is clear in the use of peplum tops in a delightful range of colours from ivory, raspberry and duck egg blue. To off set the top silhouette and create balance, the peplum is elegantly paired with amazing wide legged crepe trousers that I truly think are a must have in every girls wardrobe.
