If you have been following my movements on BWA of late it would be no surprise of my mini love affair with by johnny, so I was intrigued to see how his debut collection at Fashion Week would unfold.
Appropriately named “AUDREYALIX” his collection gave us sleek femininity with a hint of tomboyish charm.
The hair created for the show reflected this with a twist on the 50’s male Mad Men style haircut with the pushed back fringe. To create this the Goldwell hair team had to illuminate some of the longer hair by braiding it internally and sleek other hair over the top. Lots of gel was the key, hair director of Goldwell recommends Lagoom Jam to sleek the sides and the back. The fringe was teased with a slight quiff to add softness and the overall look was set with Style Fix hair lacquer.
Taking hold and nailing the peplum trend by johnny gives us a more exaggerated silhouette this season, however still in keeping with showing off the female figure. He adds the boyfriend edge with relaxed tailoring and muscle style tanks and tees. An added appreciation goes out to Johnny who hand created artworks that the show was themed around. Bold stripes were created using hand drawn texta designs and intricate floral prints were drawn with felt tip pens. While puff paint detailing added a three dimensional approach to beige coloured dresses and lime green pencil skirts.
The highlight of mine for the week so far I can only hope when this collection hit stores that his price point remains reasonable which is partly what makes this label so desirable for people like me.
