If you know me, you know I’m a massive fan of highlighters. I’d fill a page up with fluoro yellow quicker than you can rationally comprehend. I’m also a fan of the ones for the face. No, not the fluoro yellow kind (they are yet to come into fashion).
Highlighters or illuminators are a fantastic way of adding that extra zing and glow to your face. Just like how highlighter pens are meant to, well, highlight the key points on a page, they can too highlight certain parts of your face for a more polished and pretty finish.
The trick is to apply it to the high points of your face. Such include your cheekbones, cupid’s bow, nose bridge and your brow bone; I even like applying it to the inner corners of my eyes – just to open them up. A teeny bit will suffice (we don’t want you to look like a disco ball now, do we?!).
If you’ve been reading my blog, you would know that I cannot live without Benefit’s Watt’s Up. It’s basically a sheer champagne-coloured highlighter that just gives you the most beautiful soft glow – perfect for day and night.
If that isn’t your cup of tea, never fear, there are many options on the market now such as Benefit’s High Beam ($45), Natio’s Skin Brightening Face Balm ($17.95) and Revlon’s Age Defying Spa Face Illuminator ($29.95).
