Paris is one of my favourite cities. Its cliched, but its romantic, beautiful and full of history and mystery. I have some of my best memories there with my two best friends, exploring little cobbled backstreets, grabbing a hot cafe au lait and baguette each cold morning and hunting through amazing flea markets.
My top five tips for you to enjoy Paris, although there is so much more!
1. Explore the famed flea markets!
Flea markets are a must. I have stumbled across vintage homewares, Chanel, designer shoes and so much more in my hunting through the stalls. Clignancourt is biggest and craziest but there are many other flea markets around Paris that you can hunt through. It offers everything from large and expensive vintage furniture to cheap and tiny trinkets. I honestly spend a full day there, grabbing baked goods and cafe au lait.
2. Visit the Place des Vosges.
The oldest and possibly one of the most beautiful spots in Paris, also where Victor Hugo lived. Relax in true Parisian style at one cafés (when I did I honestly felt so Parisian, even though I was such a tourist!) or roam around the Marais for the day. Built by Henry IV in 1605-1612, over 400 years ago you can find the Place des Vosges in the 4th Arrondissement.
3. Visit Opéra Garnier or Théâtre du Châtelet.
This is a MUST. It is an experience unto itself just to sit in either theatre which has a transformative quality that feels like its straight out of 1800’s. Catch a show from musicals to touring companies from all around the world.
4. Visit Laudree for tea and macarons from Go to Ladurée or Pierre Hermé.
Grab world famous chocolates and macarons from Go to Ladurée or Pierre Herme. This has become totally touristy, but its still a must for sweet Paree!
5. Museum madness.
While the Louvre is a must Paris has a myriad of amazing museums to visit to soak in the art, beauty and culture of France. Some to tick off includeSewers of Paris, The Orangerie, Musee de Cluny, Musee du vin, Palais de Tokyo, and the Petit Palais.

Love the Musee D’Orsay – one of the best galleries I have ever been to. A trip there followed by a few hours of coffee and people watching is pretty much my perfect day!
Tea and macarons sounds good to me. An interesting museum to go see in Paris is the Charles de Gaulle. It has airconditioning ducts on the outside and a grated floor where you can see right through to the ground below .. that freaked me out!
One day I will get there
Me too….I’m all for no. 4. Food!!!
Ah Paris. I’ll get there one day….
