Audrey Abroad: Sri Panwa, AKA Paradise

Well here we are folks, with my last official editorial for BWA- you have all met the new editor Vanessa by now, and it is with a heavy heart that I pass on the reigns to this magnificent website, however I know that Vanessa has the passion, innovation and style to carry on the Audrey name.

With that, I leave you on a high note, to spread the word about the amazing-ness that is Sri Panwa. If you haven’t heard of Sri Panwa, favoured by celebrities and mere mortals alike, prepare for a visual feast that will leave you salivating for more. Celebrity guests that have stayed at Sri Panwa include Snoop Dogg himself- so you know how P.I.M.P it really is going to be when you hear that.

Nestled in the south of Thailand Sri Panwa is a quiet, tranquil and totally luxe escape from the modern grind of Sydney life and the perfect retreat away. About 45 mins drive south of the dust, hustle and ping-pong shows of Patong is Cape Panwa- a dreamy and transportative retreat that almost makes you feel like you are on another planet, far far away from all the realities of life. Here lies Sri Panwa…AKA Paradise.

When you arrive you’re greeted with a friendly but professional security team that scans your undercar for any suspicious packages and salutes you are you are cleared and waived through the delightful jungle of roads that lead to reception. Just the tip of the iceberg of the true display of hospitality that is yet to come.

We popped into Sri Panwa for a one night stay on our journey back to Bangkok to refresh and rejuvenate our spirits and boy let me tell you, we left feeling like a million bucks- and with tears in our eyes that we had to leave!

Check out some of our highlights of must do/must eat things at Sri Panwa below or click HERE to book your next vacay away:

Stay:

Pool Villa: We were lucky enough to secure a one bedroom pool villa which is esentially every person’s fantasy…you just didnt know it yet. An infinity pool looks out onto the cape, the bedroom and lounge room open right onto the pool, the spa, outdoor shower, indoor shower, steam room and two person bathroom make sure you’re every whim is catered for.

Not to mention your personal room valet, golf cart transportation from your villa to your latest activities or breakfast, complimentary snacks and beverages and a relaxing cabana by the pool. I could go on, and on and on….

The team is attentive yet maintains a respectful distance for privacy, yet just picking up the phone conjures helpful staff at your door in minutes, who are decked out in Ralph Lauren and Gucci no less.

Eat:

Baba Nest: This is pretty much THE thing to do on your stay. This high rooftop bar has 360 degree views of the surrounding islands and the Andaman Sea. It is seriously a must see. The photos don’t even do the majesty of this view justice. A cocktail and some nibbles here is a MUST, but make sure you book as the cushy cushions book out fast. You can even visit Baba Nest if you aren’t staying at the resort which I would highly recommend to anyone vacationing in the area!

Baba Soul Food: For a world class establishment such as this, you would expect world-class prices. Don’t. The food is incredibly reasonable considering the luxe surroundings. Baba Soul Food is all about traditional, home cooked southern Thai Cuisine. Must try: Moo Hong, a signature dish for the restaraunt which is delectable braised pork belly, resonably priced at 398 Baht, or around $15 AUD. Click HERE to check out the menu.

See:

The Islands- Day tripping: Racha, Phi Phi and Coral are just a few of the island surrounding that are worth day tripping out to. Take some bread and feed the fish as you snorkel, or order coconut icecream served fresh in a coconut on a lounger by the sea. For the more adventurous, there are dive courses available! The super helpful Sri Panwa team organize and assist you in all of these adventures so no muss no fuss! Worlds better than trying to navigate the potentially scammy waters of the usual day trip package.

Do:

YogaA relaxing retreat wouldn’t be complete without some morning yoga to make you feel at your best. Sri Panwa runs daily classes for like minded individuals who want to salute the sun! Also available are pilates, stretching, tennis, thai boxing and kayaking so there is something there for everyone! (we even discovered a video game nook for the kids, or your inner kid!). Cool Spa, which we talk about below also offers private yoga classes for serious Yoga enthusiasts.

Relax:

Cool Spa: Of course, my trip wouldn’t have been complete with out some serious pampering…duh! And of course, as you’d expect, Cool Spa at Sri Panwa is one of the best experiences of my life (right up there with getting engaged, not really…but really!).

On offer is everything from body wraps, to facials to soothing massages and the lengths range from hour long sessions to 6 hour multi day sessions! You can check out the full menu of pampering HERE.

Wow Tash! No wonder you left BWA! I’d also be leaving that place with tears in my eyes – the water looks like heaven. Your photos & article have inspired me to leave my plane-phobia behind and take the plunge to travel (something I pretty much don’t do because I’m scared of catching planes). Actually, is there any cruise boats that go that way? I’m showing my hubby these photos!

It sounds just wonderful, but I think I’ll wait till the political situation is more stable.
