To celebrate the opening of the ‘China: Through The Looking Glass’ Costume Institute exhibition, celebrities, models and influencers headed to The Met Gala for one of this years biggest events, filled with standout fashion and beauty looks.

The evening’s red carpet looks drew inspiration from Chinese culture, with many guests wearing traditional hues of crimson and red, yellow and black complimented with smokey eyes, statement lips and fresh-faced skin.

Our favourite beauty looks from the event had to include Gigi Hadid, whose stunning red DVF gown was balanced out with a natural look. The model wore winged liner with bronzed smokey eyes, teamed with a striking nude lip with a slightly pink touch.

Another stunning beauty look on the red carpet was the ever-gorgeous Diane Kruger, who wasn’t afraid to add a little colour to her Chanel pantsuit, with fresh flowers and soft waves teamed with a bold red lip and bronzed eyes.

Complimenting her leg baring Chanel dress, Dakota Johnson embraced the tousled bob complete with effortless brown waves that worked with her serious thick black winged liner and a feminine pink lip. The actress’s skin was kept natural looking, with a light dusting of blush to let her eyes do all the talking.
4. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

A timeless beauty, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley went dark and glamourous for the event, adding an edgy touch to her feminine gown with a slicked back bun, deep burgundy lip and a gorgeous bronzed glow.

The gorgeous 24 year old actress opted for a beautifully classic look at this year’s ball. Fluttery lashes, soft glowy cheeks and berry lips played well against her stunning emerald green dress and pared-back, (though slightly controversial) hairstyle. (Roberts reportedly attended with chopsticks in her hair – a faux pas in Chinese culture, denoting a death in the family! She quickly removed them.)
