There’s nothing like a little 90s nostalgia to get the heart racing. So when Maybelline NY’s Makeup Director, Nigel Stanislaus, created this grunge meets glam meets beach chick look for Watson X Watson, he was right on the money.
Think unstructured hair with barely-there waves, sunkissed skin, oh-so-soft lashes and bold, matte pink lips. And let’s not overlook the black and white crackle-style nail art; the sleek and modern version of those days in the 90s when rocking chipped nail polish was considered a sartorial triumph.
Nigel says of the Watson X Watson look, “The strong brow, matte pink lip and shredded nails speak of NYC edge merged with the essence of 90s surf cool.”
If you want to copy the look, Nigel suggests going easy on the mascara application, lightly applying bronzer, and sweeping a little gloss across your eyelids to get that lovely fresh and dewy look.
