The Strand Arcade’s A/W 2011 Campaign

“Alice Returns Through The Looking Glass” is the inspiration behind the latest A/W Campaign for The Strand Arcade. In a whimsical setting, Australia’s top designers had their pieces beautifully styled with a fairytale-esque feel.

This season sees an opulence combined with elegant drama, echoing a bygone era of decadence and extravagence. Ultra-feminine shapes reflect a new mood of luxe- with designers opting for lavish textures and elegant silhouettes.

Campaign developer Caroline Poiner says, “The influence for The Strand Arcade’s campaigns has always been from Lewis Carroll because of the history of the centre. The whole concept was that Alice had come back through the looking glass, so really the idea of the set was that she left the room and 100 years later she’s come back.”

The campaign showcases some of BWA’s fave Australian designers including Lisa Ho, Fleur Wood and Alex Perry. Designer Jayson Brundson says of his collection at The Strand Arcade, “This season’s collection embodies a modern lifestyle rooted in bohemian glamour whilst paying attention to colour, texture and proportion.”

This year it’s all about embracing our femininity and moving away from the androgyny and rough rocker edge of previous years. Check out the stunning images of the latest campaign below and a sneak peek behind the shoot.
