Ever drifted off in a meeting, uni lecture or other important thing in which you were supposed to be paying attention?
Personally, I find myself doing this all the time. I also find that my make up likes to fade out, much to my annoyance. But just because you might be suffering from a case of three-thirty-itis, doesn’t mean your makeup has to!
Here are some tips to help keep your game face on, even when you’re not feeling so game yourself… And don’t worry – this article isn’t nearly as long as my last one, so you won’t find yourself drifting off!
1. Foundation is like paint… If you use a primer, it’ll last longer! Most, if not all, primers act as moisturisers too, however you if you’re worried about going greasy at midday, you can always pick up a mattifying primer – they are amazing for us girls with pores that might as well be oil wells!
2. Chose products specifically designed for long wear – you’re trying to fight a downhill battle if you’re not equipped with the right type of ammunition (makeup, that is!). Makeup, much like technology, has evolved. If you haven’t already, invest in products which have been specifically formulated to fight fading.
3. Resist the urge to support your head with your hands – you’re probably doing it right now, aren’t you?! The more contact you make with your makeup, whether intentionally or not, the more likely it is to fade. After all, the makeup can’t read your mind – it won’t say: “whoops, I know you didn’t mean to touch me, so I won’t run away this time…” Every time you reach for the face, think MC Hammer: “Can’t touch this!”
4. And finally, it’s okay to ‘cheat’ in the battle of face vs. day… Touch-ups are allowed. In fact, they are encouraged. I doubt that makeup goddesses (namely, Kim Kardashian) manages to keep her face looking as pristine as it does without a few professional touch ups throughout the day. And if Kim does it… why can’t we? (Oh wait, because we’re not Kim Kardashian). Okay, so we might not have the professionals on hand to add a touch of powder where our hand has accidentally rubbed our faces, or to dot on lippy when we accidentally leave our mark on an unsuspecting glass. But we’re independent, right?!
Oh, and to stop yourself from drifting off? You’re probably lacking in both beauty sleep and caffeine – they’re essential supplements for us girls on the go!

I use L’oreal Paris base magique transforming smoothing primer… It’s about $27, but absolutely amazing, and definitely worth it! sometimes I don’t even bother with foundation and just use the primer on its own! <3

Thanks for the tips! I usually have the problem of my eyeshadow creasing after only a couple of hours of wear so I have to touch it up during the day. I always wear a long wearing foundation as I got sick of it wearing off during the day.
Thank you for the tipss! I’ll try it and hope it works for me (:
