If there is one way to describe Rachel Zoe’s latest Resort offerings, it’s that it is EVERYTHING.
It’s clear that Zoe’s passion for design is as real as her love for Sky-Sky (yep, I am a die hard RZ fan!).
If you watch Zoe’s (soon to be cancelled) show you pick up on hints of uncertainty in her design process. Part of it is clearly her self comparison to her idols and fashion greats like Valentino or Lagerfeld. But I think it is Zoe’s self criticism that has done her business and labels favour. It’s clear Zoe is no Valentino but she knows what women want, what makes women look good, and what is oh-so on trend. It is her sense of realism that is bound to make this collection fly off the racks.
Clearly, Resort 2014 is made lounging poolside. Nautical stripes make a dramatic entrance, and beautifully tailored blazers stay true to Zoe’s seventies aesthetic, with other nautical elements flowing in and out of the collection, in the print and rope belts.
Incredibly beautiful uses of leather in dresses panelling and stripes add a serious touch of luxury. There is really something here for every woman, and not just one that can afford to lounge poolside all summer. Blazers and pantsuits for the work girl, and leather minis for nights out. Zoe puts it best herself when she says, “It’s a very versatile collection.”
