It has been such a long time- today, I have chosen to review the lovely Revlon Lip Butters which have FINALLY reached Australia (they were all the rage in the US months ago).
I have long awaited the arrival of these lip butters, and being a beauty junkie I ran to my nearest Priceline Pharmacy to get my hands on these beautiful babies. The Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters, are a mix between a lipstick and a lip balm- they give the moisture of a lip balm and have enough pigment to tint your lips!
PRODUCT:
The product itself consistency wise is very much like any lip balm- very smooth and almost too soft- I’m saying this because the lip balm itself tends to rub onto the insides and rim of the tube being so very, very ‘buttery’ soft, bit of product wastage, but no harm done! You get about .09 oz ( 2.55 g) which is a decent amount of product, but with how much I will be using them, I’ll probably run out awfully quickly. ‘Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula’ is advertised as ingredients which help promote ‘lip moisture by 156%,’ as claimed. In saying so I do not find them to be extremely moisturising, but they do their job well and the colour payoff is great for the darker shades, whilst the lighter ones lean more to sheer washes of colour -a la my lips but better. Note: Some shades do have tiny glitter specks, so be sure to swatch testers before buying!
There are 20 shades altogether which have hit most Revlon counters and stockists, but be quick I went to 3 stores to find the colours I wanted, I purchased: Peach Parfait (peachy pink), Fig Jam (scarily chocolate brown in the tube), Berry Smoothie (I love this colour!), Tutti Frutti (coral orangey red) and I really want Red Velvet (wintry vampy red)! For any swatches, Google away, most beauty gurus have reviewed and swatched all colours and they are very true to their photographed shades!
PACKAGING:
The product is housed in a square metal twist tube like most lipsticks. The base of the tube is black with the silver Revlon logo (sticker on the bottom has the colour code and product name). The clear plastic lid is reflective of the lip butter colour it houses and has the signature Revlon Colorburst criss-cross design on opposite sides making it easier to grip and open.
RECOMMENDATION:
Overall, a wonderful product, which shortens my daily make up routine by about 30 seconds- no need to apply a lip balm! 8/10- It lost 2 points – due to the time it took to be available in Australia and it’s not particularly long lasting, one must reapply every 2 hours.
Price point- $21.95 AUD costly for a drugstore lippy, but luckily if you get into Priceline pharmacies quick, it’s BUY 1 GET 1 FREE until the 23rd April 2012, I’d sprint if I were you!

The name sounds yummy.
I’m not a big fan of these lip butters. I don’t like the smell, texture or consistency at all.
I’m addicted to these.. They’re soooo amazing!! Like omg.
My daughter loves these she nearly has the whole set that is available in Australia, Pity the whole line isn’t available here
This product has cult status on YouTube beauty blogs!!!

It sounds good but im not sure that id pay that sort of money for it, id rather opt for Baby lips, or something. Id love to try it, but maybe when its cheaper.
Great review though, good work!
Sounds great, will try to get to my nearest Priceline & hope they have them in! ( I live in the country so they don’t always get all the latest products!)
