Product Review: Elizabeth Arden Red Door Red Lipstick

So, my Mum gave me The Anniversary Elizabeth Arden Red Door Lipstick for Christmas because I love red lipstick it is claimed to be “A Universal Shade of Red”.

The Lipstick contains pretty much everything that keeps your lips plump and chap free, it comes in some seriously fantastic packaging and even has a really nice smell. What more could you ask for?

PACKAGING:

The lipstick comes in a cute little white box with a red door (coincidentally) on the front. Open it up and you will find a heavily corrugated gold tube of lipstick. Lets be honest, it’s some serious bling, so it has to be something special even if it is just because it is a limited edition product.

PRODUCT:

The actual product, off the lips, looks fantastic. It has a subtle sparkle to it and is a very sexy colour of red. On the lips, it is even better. For some reason this lipstick makes your lips look fuller (which would probably be credited to those sparkles) but is also quite sheer. It does not completely cover the colour of your lips, which matches the colour to the complexion a little better than complete block lipstick otherwise would. Oh and did I mention it smells like Red Door perfume, and does not have the chalky taste of most lipsticks. It also contains vitamins A, C, E and Aloe Vera, so it keeps your lips healthy at the same time!

APPLICATION:

Probably one of the easiest lipsticks I have ever applied. It glides on as it seems to have more similarities with a lip gloss rather than a lipstick. Re-application is as simple as the initial application, and hardly necessary as it has a great wear time.

All in all and great product from a well known brand which I would rate 9/10. The actual product is great, but the price is a bit excessive (approximately $35 or so), from what I know though, all proceeds go towards the charity “Look Good Feel Better” a charity which helps individuals with cancer look good! so I guess that is not such a bad thing after all.

i hate lipsticks that make me feel like i have just stuck my lips in a bowl of flour after wearing them for five minutes there is nothing worse, i think the purple rimmel range is by far the best one that i have come across.

That is so cute but I’d love it in a neutral colour. I just don’t wear bright red around the place.
