Product Review: Benefit’s Brow Zings

As I mentioned in a previous post, my brow kit is something I absolutely cannot live without. To the point where, if I had to choose between going without food for three days and going without my brow kit for three days, food would not stand a chance. Throughout the years I have tried and tested just about every variety of every brand of eyebrow enhancer – some were adequate, some were sub-par and others I used simply because they got the job done. Until now.

This all brings to what I believe to be the ultimate product in the search for eyebrow perfection – Brow Zings by Benefit Cosmetics. This little beauty works so well for a myriad of reasons, and it’s obvious Benefit has put a lot of effort into making a product so fantastic you won’t want to use anything else again.

The kit comprises of a wax, a powder, a hard angle brush, a blending brush and a pair of tweezers that work together in perfect makeup harmony. The hard angle brush is used in conjunction with the wax to create a desirable eyebrow shape, with the blending brush coming in second to apply the powder over any sections that may look a little sparse or under-filled. It also comes in handy if you’re a bit heavy handed with the wax and ended up looking more burlesque than natural – simply use feathery strokes over the area and it looks like you were born with brows this good.

The absolute best part about the Brow Zings kit? I’ll tell you a secret. I once had a major problem with overplucking my eyebrows – they have the tendency to get curly, thick and out of control and I just wanted them to cooperate. Instead, I ended up with brows that started about halfway along my eyes instead of on the edge of my brow bone. Since using Brow Zings I decided to create my ultimate brow shape and then pluck any strays that got in the way of my creation. After about three months I now have eyebrows that look the same, kitted up or not. Magic!

So if you’re in need of a brow overhaul, or simply want a neater and more in control set, Benefit’s Brow Zings are the perfect thing to send you on your way. Despite being a little more work than just a casual sweep with a pencil, the results are infinitely more rewarding. You can snap up these fantastic kits for $55 at the Benefit counter in Myer, or stay at home and purchase one online here. Remember, the way you shape your eyebrows can – and will – affect the way the rest of your face looks, so treat them kindly.

Interesting, I must have a look into this. I can never get the right brow shape and I’m too scared to get it waxed.
