Yes, so you’ve barely wiped the chocolate from your lips and put away the plush Easter Bunny, but the next event on the calendar is already looming. Mother’s Day. There are some sure fire ways to impress your mum (or mother-in-law) with a selection of swanky gifts, and here is a selection, hand-picked by none other than yours truly.
1. Clinique ‘Bold Eyes To Go’ Gift Pack, RRP $59
This is selection of Clinique’s latest and greatest products. It features a mini sized Bottom Lash Mascara, High Impact Mascara, a super smooth black cream eyeshadow, and a neutral, butter-soft eyeshadow duo in champagne and mink. The best part of this set? All the colours and products are basic, fool-proof and will compliment any age or complexion. It’s also a great starter kit as well as being compact enough for travelling. And don’t get me started on that cute floral cosmetic bag that screams fun, fresh and feminine.
2. Lancome Visionnaire [LR 2412 4%] Advanced Skin Corrector, $165/50ml, $115/30ml
This is Lancome’s revolutionary anti-ageing skin serum/treatment that combats the appearance of wrinkles, tighten and reduce pores, as well as reducing imperfections and hyperpigmentation. The key ingredient is ‘LR 2412’, don’t worry, it isn’t a secret code, but it refers to a prototype molecule that apparently ‘self-propels’ through the skin, targeting skin damage and advancing cell-regeneration. The only thing this product can’t do? Clean the dishes and mop the floor.
3. The Body Shop’s Body Butter Duo in Macadamia, $29.95/200ml
The Body Shop’s Body Butter’s are one of the most iconic products from this brand, and it only gets better. The company has started releasing duos, featuring two variations of body butter in the one pot – one light, one heavy. It’s great for when you have dry areas that need extra hydration, such as your elbows and knees. I love the smell of sweet, mouth-watering macadamias, and it features macadamia oil, soya oil and babussu nut oil. My advice? Get two – one for your Mum and one for yourself!
4. Bottega Veneta EDP, $100/30ml, $150/50ml, $180, 75ml
Luxury in a bottle, I call it. Bottega Veneta is a classically feminine scent, featuring fresh floral notes as well as bergamot, patchouli and oak moss. The base notes are a seductive combination of Italian bergamot, Indian jasmine sambac, Brazilian pink peppercorns and Indonesian patchouli. I adore the aesthetically pleasing bottle – it’s simple and elegant with rounded curves, contrasting textures, and leather detailing. Every time I smell this, I die and go to olfactory heaven.
5. Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter, $21.95
If you haven’t read the review by MidnightStarfish…please crawl out from underneath your rock. This new product from Revlon has caused an online sensation – exploding with hoards of positive reviews and die-hard cosmetic addicts announcing their undying love. It’s available in 20 sheer shades, and it’s a softening, smoothing as well as intensely hydrating lip colour. The perfect combination of lipstick and lip balm, it leaves your lips looking moist with no tacky glitter finish. Perfect for Mum!
Do you plan to pick up any of these for your Mum?
How do you plan to spoil her?
