Amongst a packed schedule of shows, Fashion Week held some real treats. My most loved shows at MBFWA included:
Watson x Watson:
This show was very much what you’d call “Lights. Camera. Action.” One of the earliest shows in the schedule, the team at Watson x Watson really know how to juice-up the crowd. Their showy, loud, and commercially-geared presentation was spot on for the audience which roared with applause at the finale.
Watson x Watson’s effortless, accessible “cool-girl” aesthetic was evident throughout their collection. The show opened with fresh, casual, wearable looks in denim and white which included several patchwork denim pieces that nodded to the ’80’s.
My favourite opening looks featured paperbag-style pants that tapered at the ankle, cinched blousy jackets, and a Farrah Fawcett-esque denim jumpsuit (pictured below). Sleeves were rolled up and hands were often in pockets as the models nonchalantly made their way down the long silver runway.
The second half of the collection featured evening looks that centered around a palette of black, navy and red. Favourite looks of mine included more paperbag-style midi skirts and pants, sheer beaded sweaters, and long-line tuxedo vests and dresses.
All evening looks were accessorised with incredible fringed crystal bracelets and statement crystal earrings by Fielsol.
As far as beauty was concerned, Watson x Watson turned the mirror back on their key customer, with models sporting effortless “undone” (long) natural hair, glossy bronzed faces and bold, yet natural brows.
Watson x Watson sister duo Somer and Liberty Watson make the kind of pieces that define everyday luxury and easy glamour, with a relaxed, sexy appeal.
