I have combination skin, with a T-zone that regularly misbehaves in the form of oilies and breakouts. And when I think about ‘cream’ cleansers with the words ‘Cocoa Butter’ emblazoned across the packaging, I instantly imagined a skincare catastrophe : my pores suffocating a slow and painful death under an oil slick.

Step in Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Gentle Daily Cleanser. If my gel and my cream cleanser got married, and had a love child, this product would be it. It’s a lightly foaming, moisturizing cleanser that will gentle remove make-up, impurities and oil without disturbing the skin’s moisture levels.

PACKAGING

This product comes housed in a sturdy, hygienic, plastic squeezy tube, with a peach coloured flip-top lid. Even though the product has ‘Butter’ in it’s name, it squeezes out easily. On my first use, I cleverly decided that the product would have difficulty coming out. After using no less than 100 kilos of force and seconds later, a Mt. Vesuvius amount of product erupted all over the shower floor.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Palmer’s Gentle Daily Cleanser has the texture of a cream cleanser – viscous, slick and creamy. Upon contact with water, it emulsifies, spreading across the skin. It lightly foams, lifting dirt and oil, with no signs of stripping or drying the skin. The White-lily fragrance doesn’t linger for long after you wash off the cleanser. Though I have sensitive skin, and dislike perfumed products, this cleanser did not irritate my skin or nose. My skin was left feeling hydrated, ultra-smooth and clean, and I found I didn’t need as much moisturizer.

APPLICATION TIPS AND TRICKS

Run out of make-up remover? Spent the money that you WERE going to spend on make-up remover on ice-cream? Don’t fret, girls. I decided to Live Dangerously and forgo my usual make-up remover, to see if this product removed long-lasting foundation, mascara and lipstick. It passed the test, no worries. Wet face, apply cleanser to face, leave for 2 minutes for the product to soak in, and your makeup will slide off with a cotton-pad. Then wash the face again the second time to remove any residue. Amaze-balls. Now, go and get more ice-cream.
